All Hockey Hair Team
It’s all about the flow.
Most people don’t know this, but the original Minnesota State High School All Hockey Hair Team was first shown on TV. The All Hockey Hair Team debuted in 2005 on a program called The Show to be Named Later. Because it ran in the 11:30pm to 12:30am slot right after Saturday Night Live on Kare 11, approximately 14 really drunk people claim they were there to see it. Most of whom worked for The Show to be Named Later.
Cut to 2011, YouTube is a more established, and the State Tournament has lost a bit of its star power with many players leaving high school early to play juniors. Hockey Hair creator, John King, decides to make another run at the All Hockey Hair Team, only this time he’d do it on the Internet. And the rest is history.
Over the years the All Hockey Hair team has had a ton of fun, been featured everywhere from ESPN to The New Yorker magazine; most importantly it has helped raise a lot of money for the Hendrickson Foundation supporting sled, special, and military hockey in Minnesota. The annual ranking of salads has become a welcome sideshow to the greatest high school sports tournament in the country.

With upsets galore in Sections, the State Tournament looked like the Wild West with lots of new teams making the trip to Saint Paul.
