Big Wood Brewery
The founders of Big Wood lovingly refer to the “beer life crisis” that led them to quit their jobs and start a brewery together. Big Wood set their sights on the beer consumer that seeks craft taste without the pretense. They named him “Joe 4-Pack,” and they built their brand around this persona.
Building a craft beer brand with mass appeal means not taking yourself too seriously. This was never going to be a problem for a brewery proudly offering Morning Wood Coffee Stout, Amigo Grande Mexican Style Lager, and Wicked Ex IPA in their lineup. Big Wood Brewery was on a mission to take the starch out of craft beer’s collar, offering up the alternative—a craft beer brand as welcoming as your most comfortable flannel shirt. Making this shift required the right brand voice, and plenty of “Up North” content inspired by the likes of Bob and Doug McKenzie, and Newhart’s Larry, Darryl, and Darryl.
