NHL Bubble Drip

No sports league did a better job navigating the pandemic than the National Hockey League. And it was all about the Bubble: Players were locked in and tested every day. But they did have one freedom: no dress code . . .

Buried somewhere in the protocols for the NHL bubbles in Edmonton and Toronto, it said due to the unique circumstances, the players would have no dress code for the Stanley Cup playoffs. With no TV crews allowed inside the bubbles besides league personnel, this detail became quite intriguing to hockey fans as they wondered how the players would express themselves.

In a unique arrangement, we were given access to all the in footage of the players in the bubble. We were able to see their comings and goings, ping pong matches, and of course the state of their hockey hair after months in quarantine. The result became Bubble Drip, a ranking of the best fashion and flow in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
