Making Movie Trailers For Financial Firms.
RBC has a saying, “Ideas happen here,” but there’s a reality in wealth management that the top firms are often better at serving their customers than they are at marketing themselves. RBC Wealth Management decided to invest in creative content to help their top advisors share their unique stories.
First, they identified select firms from across their portfolio that were doing innovative and cutting edge work. These hand-picked firms were the “tip of the spear” of their network of financial advisors.
Once the firms were selected, OWNER conducted a series of in-depth interviews with principals from each firm. These interviews would lead to common themes to guide our discussion while filming their unique story.
The end result was a custom advisor video for each selected advisor group. The videos were creative and had high production value, acting almost like movie trailers for their firms. And while each of the selected groups would author their unique story, it became OWNER’s job to “find the interesting,” while showcasing diversity of thought.
Advisor stories ranged from 3rd generation female-led companies to spotlighting the link between a strong financial advisor and sleeping better at night. If an advisor group wanted to showcase their office dog, host a conversation on a golf course, or flex their equestrian specialty at a stable—we made it happen. These were their stories, after all.
The videos were designed to be door openers, the sort of video you could share on email, social media, or your website to build curiosity and affinity and, most importantly, to make the phone ring. Each video custom built around that firm's unique culture, approach, and philosophy. The end goal is to help each advisor group tell their unique story to more people more often. Because sometimes the best way to show “Ideas happen here,” is to share a few of your own.
