Sioux Falls Stampede

In 2012, the Sioux Falls Stampede was a once proud franchise that had lost its way. Attendance numbers were at an all-time low, and the team was losing money. A commitment was made to completely rebuild the culture of the organization and the brand itself.

Like all great change, it started with people. More specifically finding the right group of people to build partnerships, make in-roads to the community, and rebuild from the inside out. A group of people determined to build the best junior hockey team in the United States. And that’s exactly what they did.

Transformation of this kind doesn’t come easy, and it doesn’t come overnight. Every decision the Stampede made was viewed through a three to five year lens. “Bleed Stampede” became the new rallying cry as Sioux Falls built a winning culture both on and off the ice. On the ice, the Stampede became a perennial playoff team, hoisting two Clark Cup Championships along the way. Off the ice, ticket sales and revenue reached historic levels and the Stampede have won USHL Organization of the Year five of the last six years. It was a journey that took hard work by a group of people committed to a common path, but today the Sioux Falls Stampede is back to being a winning culture and successful organization.
