Zamboni Karaoke
Two words you never thought you’d see together: Zamboni Karaoke.
Only in Minnesota would the top boy’s and girl’s high school players in the State take a spin on a Zamboni being interviewed while belting out their favorite karaoke songs. And they’d get to do it with their teammates on National Hockey League ice inside the home of the Minnesota Wild, the Xcel Energy Center. Filmed early in the season, Zamboni Karaoke had extra meaning because the Xcel Energy Center also hosts the State Tournaments for both boy’s and girl’s high school hockey. So, while these kids were spinning around an empty arena singing Neil Diamond, they were also imagining themselves coming back sometime in March to make history. Filmed over two seasons, Zamboni Karaoke was able to show the State of Hockey a different side of the top players in the state as they let their hair down and showcased their real personalities.
